“The Da Vinci Code” conspiracy

July 27, 2006 at 10:25 pm (News, Religious)

First in Pakistan and now in Iran the movie as well as the book “The Da Vinci Code” has been banned. Upon the announcement Iranians rushed to book stores to get the last copies as soon as possible. All are interested to see that why Christian community wants to hide it. The reason are three conspiracies the novel pointed out to:

  1. Jesus was married, and not a bachelor
  2. Location of the holy grail (the miraculous cup or plate), from which Jesus drank in his last supper before crucifixion.
  3. Powerful catholic societies that keep these secrets, a secret.

The reason this relates to Da Vinci is due to his famous paintings like Vitruvian Man, Mona Lisa (which is claimed to be a self portrait of Da Vinci assuming himself as a woman) and specially the Last Supper painting.

Leonardo Da Vinci was a member of one of the secret societies of Zion (Israel) that knew about the location of Holy Grail. Considering that the painting he drew doesn’t feature a grail of any kind. But a woman instead of the famous Apostle John of the prophet.

Da Vinci The last supper

The book forces the relation that, this woman is Marry Magdalene who was not only a dedicated apostle but also THE very wife of Jesus Christ, and bore either 1 or 3 of his Childs. And secondly there was no “cup” termed as Holy Grail. Since Holy grails literal meaning is royal blood, so she and her blood line is the Holy grail.

Rent My Chest

July 27, 2006 at 8:49 pm (Weird)

Looking for something useless, funny or silly enough to laugh at.. then look at Rent My Chest. Its a Chris Prilio project (Owner of famous Lockergnome.com Newsletters). The site features the bare chest of this geek, and you can just add words to be shown on the chest. This site is really a neat concept of extremism of uselessness (I am not sure if such a degree of uselessness existed, but if it did I intended to use that here).

Your eyes work at 100Mbps

July 27, 2006 at 8:42 pm (Science)

Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine estimate that the human retina can transmit visual input at about the same rate as an Ethernet connection, one of the most common local area network systems used today. They present their findings in the July issue of Current Biology. This line of scientific questioning points to ways in which neural systems compare to artificial ones, and can ultimately inform the design of artificial visual systems.

Well unfortunately, human visual ethernet doesn’t come equipped with a firewall for “adult content” filter. Now how cool (and frustrating) would that had been!

Rubber Pavement

July 27, 2006 at 8:07 pm (Science)

Washington and dozens of other communities are installing rubber sidewalk. The rubber squares are up to three times more expensive than concrete slabs but last longer, because tree roots and freezing weather won’t crack them.

RubberPavementThe shock-absorbing surface also happens to be easier on the joints of joggers, and more forgiving when someone falls down.

The rubber sidewalks are to be made from worn out tire rubber. Did you know that an estimated 290 million tires are thrown out each year in the U.S. alone.

Psalm pages discovered in Ireland

July 27, 2006 at 7:48 pm (Religious)

Irish archaeologists Tuesday heralded the discovery of an ancient part of book of psalms (Zaboor – Book of David or Daud) by a construction worker who spotted something while driving the shovel of his backhoe into a bog. The approximately 20-page book has been dated to the years 800-1000.

“There’s two sets of odds that make this discovery really way out. First of all, it’s unlikely that something this fragile could survive buried in a bog at all, and then for it to be unearthed and spotted before it was destroyed is incalculably more amazing.”

The book was found open to a page describing, in Latin script, Psalm 83, in which God hears complaints of other nations’ attempts to wipe out the name of Israel.

Male Lawyer wears skirt to court

July 27, 2006 at 7:26 pm (Weird)

A Newzeland’s High court lawyer Rob Moodie, 67, arrived at Wellington’s High Court on Monday in a navy blue woman’s suit complete with diamond brooch and lace-topped stockings over his hairy legs, The Dominion Post reported. “I will now, as a lawyer, be wearing women’s clothing,” Moodie said. He said he wants the court to address him as “Ms. Alice”.

The bald, mustachioed lawyer wears a skirt and blouse toting a purse to protest a lack of care and sensitivity among New Zealand’s male-dominated judiciary. Too bad there were no photos published in media.

Scientifically check ripeness of fruit

July 27, 2006 at 7:05 pm (Science)

A University of Arizona professor has invented a sticker that can tell consumers if a fruit or vegetable is ripe. The stickers will be available to growers next year and should make their way to supermarkets within two to three years, said Mark Riley, a UA assistant professor of agricultural and biosystems engineering.

A marker on Riley’s RediRipe stickers detects a chemical called ethylene gas, which is released by fruit or vegetables as they ripen. As that happens, the sticker turns from white to blue. The more ethylene gas the fruit produces, the darker the blue, Riley said. The color shift is not instantaneous once a sticker is attached. It takes about 24 to 48 hours, depending on how fast the fruit is ripening, Riley said. There are still a few bugs like for fruits which release too low ethylene or a fruit which becomes overripe.

Visa based Monopoly

July 27, 2006 at 7:01 pm (Uncategorized)

MonoplyVisaA British version of the classic Monopoly board game released this week substitutes a Visa-imprinted debit card for the stacks of yellow, blue and purple play money long hoarded by children worldwide.

It may be an interesting change for a 53 year old game (Yup! it was first introduced in 1953). But I think I will still prefer piles od dollar bills rather than one card. Whoever got jealous of 1 card.. but you can always tease your opponents with a show off of stock of $100 bills (Wasn’t that the whole point of the game?)
