Hezbollah are mere “Fed up” civilians
Some of photos like these are posted over the net, claiming that these Hezbollah fighters are dressed like civilians and are firing from within the city. Proving that they use their own countrymen as human shield. What such sites don’t realize is that what are Hezbollah?
Hezbollah were formed from within the Lebanese civilians when Israel first time attacked Lebanon. They are not an “official” army, they don’t have proper uniforms they are just an action group which emerged among the civilians. The recruits of Hezbollah are no one but those who were scared from Israel oppression on their country. If anyone is to blame for existence of “Hezbollah” is the oppressors themselves.

Sony’s WiFi Communicator
Sony announced a new device called the Mylo (My Life on the Go), which is a handheld communications and media device roughly the same size as Sony’s PSP. Despite the similarities in size, the Mylo screen actually slides up to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard where users can use to type up instant messages, browse the web and type up emails.
The Mylo comes equipped with GoogleTalk as well as Yahoo! Messenger. Users can use Mylo’s built in Wi-Fi capabilities to link up to an Internet connection and make calls through their Skype user account. Mylo supports MPEG4 video playback and MP3, ATRAC and WMA support for audio. JPG image playback is supported. The unit has a 320×240 screen. Sony says that the Mylo will be available come September for $350.
The biggest drawback is that its not a mobile. So, No GSM network is supported. hmm! Why wouldn’t anyone get a Nokia E61, which supports same screen size, QWERTY keyboard, WiFi, VoIP, messenger, Internet browsing, Blackberry Connect/Edge network AND it is a GSM/CDMA phone, with same or even lesser price! I own one myself. Maybe it isn’t as good looking as Sony’s MyLo or Sony Ericsson’s M600 but its features outclass any other in the row.
A healthy TV channel
It’s the heart of the summer, a time when a kid’s thoughts may well turn to watching television — lots of television. But one television network is telling kids to turn off their sets, put aside their remotes and go outside and play.
“Our whole mantra is about a balanced lifestyle,” said Marva Smalls, an executive vice president with the Nickelodeon cable channel. “Part of a balanced lifestyle,” Smalls added, “is not to spend all of your waking hours watching TV.”

Burn more fat in Less time
Do you spend hours and hours in gym, but with no results; or don’t get enough time to exercise in gym at all. Then there is a way to burn more calories, lose more fat, and improve your cardiovascular fitness level while spending less time doing cardio. Sounds too good to be true? Well it is true!
If you want to take your fitness and fat loss to the next level—without spending more time in the gym—then high intensity interval training (also known as HIIT) could be exactly what you’re looking for. HIIT is a specialized form of interval training that involves short intervals of maximum intensity exercise separated by longer intervals of low to moderate intensity exercise.

Pizza to be called “Elastic Loaf” in Iran
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has ordered government and cultural bodies to use modified Persian words to replace foreign words that have crept into the language, such as “pizzas” which will now be replaced by a Farsi (Iranian language) which means “elastic loaves,”.
Among other changes, a “chat” will become a “short talk” and a “cabin” will be renamed a “small room,” according to official Web site of the academy.

Escher’s Up-Down stairs done in Lego

These two guys made Escher’s relativity model using Lego blocks. It is a very famous effect in which People seem up-side down on stairs. Andrew writes – “Daniel Shiu and I worked on this as a joint project after we finished our rendition of Escher’s “Ascending and Descending”, making it our fourth Escher picture rendered in LEGO. Once again, no camera tricks, but the picture has to be taken from exactly the right place, and boy did we get tired of trying to find where that place was. The whole thing took five or six evenings spread over two or three weeks. Most of the last evening was taken up with setting up the lighting the way we wanted it and trying to get the camera position just right….”

“Minority Report” Human Interface Device
Movies always push technology towards cool ideas. The movie “Space Odyssey 2000″ was a classic movie and to me a father of modern computer technologies. In recent movies, Steven Speilberg and Tom Cruise’s “Minority Report” is also one such movie which presented with a cool mid air human interface to computer by using arm motion.
“Fingertip digitizer” is created by people at University of Buffalo that tries to mimic same thing and do much more. All one needs to do is simply slip the sleeve onto their fingers and the device’s thin-film embedded force sensors and tri-axial accelerometer will track their movements in real-time, even providing tactile feedback corresponding to physical motions and virtual environments. For example, if you move your hand to pick up a ball, you will not only instruct the computer to grab the ball, but feel the pressure and weight of the ball in your hand; should you motion pulling the trigger on a sniper rifle in an FPS, you’ll feel that 1.5-pound hair-trigger move ever so slightly with your index finger.

188-year-old Bible found in dump
Electrician Michael Hoskins is not averse to browsing when he drops off trash at the Route 41 dump bin, and a recent visit rewarded his curiosity. Hoskins said he discovered a 188-year-old King James Bible. Now he’s fending off offers approaching $1,000 for the find.
While otherwise intact, the Bible appeared to have fire damage and had watermarks on some of its inner pages. The sheepskin-covered book was printed in Pittsburgh in 1818 and, according to Hoskins’ research, is one of less than half dozen copies in existence.

Geeky Gadgets for students
From the looks of the photo attached with this post, someone might scream and say that it is happening, now even our shoes need a usb connection to run. Well they aren’t completely wrong, these sneakers do require a usb connection, but not to allow you to run.. but to transfer music. It has a capacity of about 100 songs, and then these songs can be listened to wirelessly, in the headphones, and thus make these MP3 Sneakers. So, next time you are wearing formal dress (ie cannot wear these sneakers in your feet), you may put these shoes in your coat pocket just to listen to your music during the boring speeches, pretty handy!
This and other such gadgets featured at BusinessWeek aren’t just for students but they have selected these for the perfect (Geeky) dorm/hostel room. These include a Dual LCD screen which acts as both wide screen TV and high res monitor (one of the very few which have respectable game performance), a digital rocking chair with woofer in the head rest, a backpack with bluetooth, a notebook theft lock chord, VoIP phone, WiFi sound systems and much more. Can you really live in a dorm without all this crap of technology?
Ah! I am really starting to appreciate cavemen.. rub two stones, make fire, cook food, life complete. They would just laugh at modern man and his bluetooth.
