Altec speaker $6100 each

September 20, 2006 at 9:54 pm (Science)

altecAltec Lansing’s A7 speakers were hot shit in the 1950s through the 1970s. It was then that they were known as the “Voice of the Theater”, distinguished by being the only commercially-available speakers approved by the Research Council at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

These studio speakers cost just $6100 each. mmm.. is there any reason to continue bragging about these, or did you just lost interest.

September 20, 2006 at 9:44 pm (Mobile)

pipSouth Korea enjoys digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB), this Samsung SCH-B470, is just for them. Its a DMB phone that also lets you watch two shows at once with its picture-in-picture (PIP) goodness.

It’s also pretty cool the way that screen rotates and flips back into the clamshell when you’re not using it, and it also has an MP3 player and 2-megapixel camera onboard. In this part of world of third world coutries most of peopl own mobiles that don’t even feature picture viewing… this phone is just Latin to them.

Wii has 27 launch titles

September 20, 2006 at 9:25 pm (Console, Games)

Here is a quick comparison of amount of launch titles available for next gen consoles:

The Xbox 360 launched last year with 18 games in the US, although only a handfull were exclusive, and 11 of them were sports games. The Wii counters with it’s games spanning numerous genres (maybe even inventing some new ones) and over 20 exclusive titles. The PS3 is currently sitting at 15 confirmed games on it’s November 17th launch day. The current Wii launch list (which you can see below) is far from final, and we wouldn’t say it’s a stretch to expect to see at least 30 games on launch day.

September 20, 2006 at 12:03 am (Weird)

A teenaged Chinese boy has shocked his mother by marrying 12 times on the Internet. The 14-year-old of Zhejiang Province became so addicted to surfing the Internet, that he ended spending at least a dozen hours every day playing online games. Everything seemed to be fine until last week, when he astounded his parents by admitting that he had married many times on the cyber world. He told his mum about his online wives, all aged between 13 to 25, revealing that his longest marriage lasted for two months, while the shortest, merely hours. The boy admitted that he would propose a marriage as long as he thought the girl was beautiful after having an online video chat, reports China Daily quoting the Youth Times newspaper.

This kid has inspired me a lot! He has become my Chinese Idol…
