September 23, 2006 at 9:57 am (Internet, Mobile)

RemoveLogoThis is a great tutorial to amazingly remove the printed logos from PDAs / Mobiles. Already hacked your T-Mobile to remove their installed background wallpaper and screensavers. Now remove the printed logo from body too. The trick uses sugar which work fines for metal but may leave some scratches on plastic bodies if you are not careful.

But the results are amazing… do try it!

Altec speaker $6100 each

September 20, 2006 at 9:54 pm (Science)

altecAltec Lansing’s A7 speakers were hot shit in the 1950s through the 1970s. It was then that they were known as the “Voice of the Theater”, distinguished by being the only commercially-available speakers approved by the Research Council at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

These studio speakers cost just $6100 each. mmm.. is there any reason to continue bragging about these, or did you just lost interest.

Wii has 27 launch titles

September 20, 2006 at 9:25 pm (Console, Games)

Here is a quick comparison of amount of launch titles available for next gen consoles:

The Xbox 360 launched last year with 18 games in the US, although only a handfull were exclusive, and 11 of them were sports games. The Wii counters with it’s games spanning numerous genres (maybe even inventing some new ones) and over 20 exclusive titles. The PS3 is currently sitting at 15 confirmed games on it’s November 17th launch day. The current Wii launch list (which you can see below) is far from final, and we wouldn’t say it’s a stretch to expect to see at least 30 games on launch day.

A teenaged Chinese boy has shocked his mother by marrying 12 times on the Internet. The 14-year-old of Zhejiang Province became so addicted to surfing the Internet, that he ended spending at least a dozen hours every day playing online games. Everything seemed to be fine until last week, when he astounded his parents by admitting that he had married many times on the cyber world. He told his mum about his online wives, all aged between 13 to 25, revealing that his longest marriage lasted for two months, while the shortest, merely hours. The boy admitted that he would propose a marriage as long as he thought the girl was beautiful after having an online video chat, reports China Daily quoting the Youth Times newspaper.

Fiber-optic replaces normal bulbs

September 19, 2006 at 10:14 pm (Science)

Can Fiber Optics be used for lightning rooms and replace bulbs completely. A single 70-watt metal halide high-intensity discharge lamp from Fiberstars linked to the company’s fiber system can provide as much lighting as eight 50-watt incandescent bulbs.

“We consume about one-third of the energy of the best fluorescent systems and about 25 percent of the typical fluorescent system,” he said. Additionally, fiber lighting won’t emit mercury (like fluorescent bulbs, if broken), radiate heat or give off ultraviolet light.

It can record speech through built-in microphones, and GPS (Global Positioning System) warns the wearer of hazards on a given route. It also can detect important sounds like a fire siren to mute music when necessary. It has a Motorola cell phone with Bluetooth installed so a bicyclist can talk on the phone, hands-free.

Cell Phones of the future

September 19, 2006 at 12:07 am (Mobile)

Business week has finally given verdict clamshell, flip, slide and candybar deisgns are out.. totaly unique and slim will be wave of the future. Some of these were just gorgeous.

For example the following onyx concept phone has no buttons at all… I love the black sleek design with cool blue display. The phone will feature no buttons and will use hand gestures to recognize your purpose. So, no yes button to answer the call. Just take it to your ear and phone will recognize that you want to answer the phone. Now that would rock.. but even if you put touch sensor buttons on this set.. I would still buy something looking like this today :)
