Transparent Screen TV
Sony has made a transparent screen TV. Its not completely floating.. but the stand and screen is all plastic or something. I have just seen the photos but I don’t know if this just concept art right now or the real thing. But it looks real cause the necessary technology is there.. a projector in the back can produce image on screen.. and speakers do seem to have their circuitry in the center.. although rest is transparent. But you see and judge for yourself.

85 Tool Swiss Army Knife
Now this is what every “man” needs… but instead of a pocket knife.. u need a “women’s” purse to carry this one around.
It seems like Wenger wants you to do one thing: throw out your old knives. Actually, it wants you to do several things: throw out your bike tools, your toiletries, your laser pointer and so on, because you can find all of these instruments in a huge Swiss Army knife, which includes every tool the company makes. Wenger is calling the contraption “Giant Knife Version 1.0.” It debuted with all 85 features and can perform hundreds of functions.
Who doesn’t need a cigar cutter next to a bicycle chain rivet setter next to a golf divot repair tool? Wenger is on to something with this everyman’s gadget. It wouldn’t be a knife, though, without a blade, so Wenger put seven in the line-up. And it wouldn’t be Swiss Army unless it came with tweezers and a toothpick. (They’re included, too.)

Free Energy Created.. but no one interested
An Irish technology company today challenged the global scientific community to test its “free-energy” technology.
Dublin-based Steorn said its technology based on the interaction of magnetic fields allows the production of clean, free and constant energy, challenging a fundamental scientific principle that you cannot destroy or create energy.
Mr McCarthy revealed the poor response by the scientific community had left it with no choice but to make a public appeal, and said the results of research by the scientific community will be published regardless of the outcome.

Dad can I get a Moto Razr for my 5th birthday?
An anonymous reader writes
CNet is reporting that the average age of a child receiving their first cell phone is continuing to drop. A report carried out last year showed that the average age of a child’s first cell phone was just eight years old and is expected to drop closer to 5 years of age this year. The author raises the obligatory medical questions that have been argued about in adults for years. Just how young is too young for a cell phone?

Ace Ventura finally getting a sequel
Morgan Creek has announced that a third Ace Ventura film is in development. Ace Venture Jr. will center on the “eccentric detective’s son, who steps into his father’s shoes to take over the family business.”
I always wanted a sequel to Ace Ventura, I love Jim Carey and his comedy style. But First it was Dumb and Dumber which got a “younger” look in sequel and Jim Carey was out for a teenager playing his role. Then Mask 2 converted to “Son of Mask” and had no Jim Carey in it. And now Ace Venture goes for a younger face with Ace Venture Jr. : Son of Ace Venture ? I mean come on, be original! and also bring Jim Carey back. He is the reason why these fictional characters became famous. Both Dumb and Dumber 2 and Mask 2 were flop.. Don’t you get a hint what people would want in Ace Venture 2… JIM CAREY!!!

Prisoners: US Taking away their human title
There have been two issues raised regarding prisoners in recent times. First is the escalating number of prisoners in U.S.; second the bad treatment being done with war prisoners by both US and Israel, which goes against all the laws that were made in previous times for protection of human rights.
- Despite half a decade of sentencing reform efforts, America’s jail and prison population is increasing at a rate of more than a thousand per week. The total number of people behind bars in the US at the end of last June was 2,186,230, up more than 56,000 over the previous year. Once again, the US retains its title as the world’s most prison-crazy nation, holding onto first place in both prisoners per capita and total number of people imprisoned. More…
- By promising confidentiality to the occupying and imprisoning powers the International Committee of the Red Cross monitors the fate of prisoners of war that no other organization can reach — from Guantanamo Bay’s Camp X-ray, to Abu Ghraib and even the many Israeli detention centers in occupied Palestine. Here, Rafeef Ziadah questions whether the ICRC’s monitoring efforts help prisoners or protect those who violate prisoners’ human rights. More…
- Further more, find out if abuse of prisoners being made legalized? More…
- And finish it all, when Bush is in trouble, he changes the law! Bush is proposing “amendments that would eliminate the risk of prosecution for political appointees, CIA officers and former military personnel for humiliating or degrading war prisoners.” The Supreme Court decided in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld, that not honoring the Geneva Conventions was illegal. More…
Highest earning celebrities this year
Forbes magazine has compiled a list of earnings of celebrities, and there is the list of top 10 earners available online.
Some names were bound to make this list, like “Steven Spielberg” (War of the worlds, Minority report, E.T., Jurassic Park) , “George Lucas” (Star wars, Indiana Jones), “Oprah Winfrey” (Oprah TV show) and “JK Rowling” (Harry potter) and “Tiger Woods”.
But there are also some surprises like the second highest earner is “Howard Stern” and “Jerry Seinfield”, yup! the comedian from Seinfield TV series which ended in 1998. But still earned £122m a huge income which comes mainly from DVD sales of this TV seasons. Then there are the DaVinci code author “Dan Brown”. Although the Christian community hoped that he didn’t earn that much, but I think the book sold more because of the controversy which was created by them. The sales would never have been this much if they didn’t raise issues about the book.
So, who else are on the list and who exactly made how much? Find out @ BBC
