Halo has a director.. a new comer!

Halo2 (6)Halo has finally got a director, and no as everyone knows by now Uwe Bowl (Alone in the Dark, Blood Rayne and other Game-to-Movies flops) has been put on leash as not to even approach near the Halo script. Then it was rumored Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings, King Kong) is involved, but he turned out to be the Executive Producer under which the Director will work. And now finally we have our director, its Neill Blomkamp who will be making Halo as his debut full feature film.

Blomkamp, a native of South Africa, is likely best known for his direction of an episode of Dark Angel and his 2005 short film Alive in Joburg, a movie about extraterrestrials becoming refugees on earth.

The director has received a number of awards including three Clio Awards, an Emmy nomination and being named one of the top five directors to watch at the First Board Awards.

So, we do expect to see some great new ideas from this director who already has some hands-on with E.T. But I don’t know he can take the pressure of working with such big names as Peter Jackson, Danziel Washington (Master Chief, Actor), Universal Studios, Fox Studios and above all Microsoft.

Still unsure whether this director has all the right stuff, check his E.T. film. Just don’t be too critical this was a short film with no King Kong budget for special effects.
